CIS Statistical Universe is a Lexis-Nexis product which indexes and abstracts over 100,000 federal, state and private statistical sources. The database is updated continuously with the United States government section going back to 1973. I suggest beginning with the “How Do I?” link on the top of the homepage for your first use to see just how easy it is to research your subject. The links to Government Agencies, Government Services, University Sites and non-Government services take you right to the homepage for each of these organizations. The Search Page allows the user to narrow their search by a number of breakdowns such as: income, life expectancy by sex, population by race, imports by commodity and foreign country of origin. There is a subject index and the ability to find comparative data. Workable electronic formats allow one to view, download, and easily manipulate the desired information.
