The Hartford Courant recently featured an article on the State Library’s WPA Art Inventory Project – “A Depression Era Mystery: About 150 Artists In State Created 5,029 WPA Works, But Whereabouts Of Many Uncertain” (7/29/08). The project, which seeks to inventory approximately 5,000 pieces of art created under the WPA in Connecticut in the 1930s, cannot be completed without the public’s help. More information is needed by State Archivist Mark Jones about the artwork created under the WPA and the artists who created it. If you would like to help, please contact Mark Jones at mjones@cslib.org or (860) 757-6511 with questions, stories, remembrances, and recent sightings. For more information on the project, see http://www.cslib.org/archives/wpaartannounce.htm
