Access to the State Library during St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Sat. Mar. 14 Tuesday, March 10, 2009

On Saturday, March 14, 2009, the City of Hartford hosts the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Many streets around the State Library will be closed to traffic, but the Library will be open.
The parade route begins at Capitol Avenue by the state Capitol. The staging area for the parade includes the following streets which will be closed by 8:45 a.m.:
- Capitol Avenue from Broad to Hudson;
- all of Trinity Street;
- all of Elm Street;
- Washington Street & Lafayette Street from Capitol to Park,
- Oak Street and
- Hungerford Street.
The I-84 East Capitol Avenue exit will also be closed.
The Parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. in front of the State Capitol.
Please use Russ St. to access the State Library. The Russ St. gate to the parking lot (normally Exit Only) will be open for your convenience.
