Records of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission among State Archives accessions for second quarter of FY2011 Wednesday, January 5, 2011

The State Archives took in 59 accessions during the period covering October 1 – December 31, 2010.
Two accessions to highlight are the records of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission, 1972-2000, bulk 1988-1994, that includes meeting material, correspondence, reports, press releases, posters and brochures, and news clippings; and the Ruth Baker Stephan Collection, circa 1942-1970, consisting primarily of correspondence Stephan received from military service members from greater Hartford during World War II. The collection also contains newsletters, postcards, clippings, and photographs of military service members.
The State Archives continues to acquire records of the probate courts and accessioned a total of 674 record books and 491 cubic feet of files from 28 probate courts: Bethany, Bozrah, Bridgeport, Bristol, Canaan, Clinton, Cornwall, Enfield, Granby, Groton, Killingworth, Ledyard, Lyme, Madison, New London, Norfolk, North Stonington, Norwich, Old Saybrook, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Salisbury, Sharon, Stonington, Torrington, Voluntown, Washington, Windsor.
