Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch Photographs Available in Flickr

In honor of the 125th anniversary of the dedication of the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch in Hartford the Connecticut State Library has digitized 16 photographs.  On September 17, 1886 the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch was dedicated to the “soldiers and sailors of Hartford who fought for the Union.”  The photographs are from the Hartford Collection, circa 1885-1936 (PG 400) and the Thompson Photographs of Hartford, 1903-1906 (PG 430).  The photographs are now available at our Flickr site.
