The State Archives received a donation of Irving J. Stolberg Papers, circa 1968-1994.  Stolberg (1936-2009), a Democrat, served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 1970 to 1992 representing New Haven’s 93rd District.  He served as Speaker of the House from 1983-1984 and 1987-1988.  The Papers includes correspondence, legislative material, campaign material, press releases, news clippings, pamphlets, and memorabilia totaling approximately 35 cubic feet.  The State Archives holds an additional 3 cubic feet of Stolberg’s legislative files, 1987-1992.  The gift came to the Connecticut State Library from Stolberg’s son, Robert Stolberg.
