The National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws – Archive Publications (NCCUSL) is updated annually and is highly recommended by the Association of American Law Schools.  This collection contains the approved “successive drafts” of each Uniform and Model Act.  Each act goes through a process of refinement similar to the process where bills are introduced and amended in our legislature.  The transcripts of the proceedings of each Annual Meeting and discussions in the Committee mirror a legislative history type of record for each act.  The NCCSL website defines a uniform state law as “…a statute that has been promulgated by the Uniform Law Commission.”  “A uniform act is one in which uniformity of the provisions for the act among the various jurisdictions is a principal and compelling objective.”  This database provides a place to go to when researching Uniform State Laws with the added feature of being able to trace the process and developments of each one.
